ABOUT FLAMES OF FIRE MINISTRIES

Flames of Fire Ministries was founded in 1995 by Apostle Makhavhu and Pastor Bongi Makhavhu in Rockville, Soweto. What started as a small gathering in their dining room has grown into a ministry that continues to impact lives through prayer, worship, evangelism, and the teaching of the Word of God. With faith, sacrifice, and a deep passion for people, the ministry became a place where many found hope, healing, restoration, and a renewed relationship with God.

In the early years, the ministry grew through door-to-door evangelism, early morning prayers, and unwavering commitment to God’s calling. As more people joined the church, services moved from the family dining room to a garage, and later into school classrooms to accommodate the growing congregation. Through every season, Flames of Fire Ministries remained committed to building a strong spiritual foundation rooted in prayer, worship, discipleship, and community outreach.

Today, Flames of Fire Ministries is headquartered in Zakariyya Park, Johannesburg, with branches in Mofolo South, Soweto and Rustervaal. The ministry continues to serve as a home for spiritual growth, transformation, and hope to people from all walks of life. Through powerful services, outreach initiatives, and the raising of godly leaders, Flames of Fire Ministries continues to carry the message of Jesus Christ to communities across South Africa.

As part of the ministry’s ongoing growth and vision for the future, Flames of Fire Ministries is currently undertaking a major building project at its Zakariyya Park headquarters. This project represents more than just a structure, it is a vision to create a lasting place of worship, prayer, discipleship, and community development for future generations. The ministry continues to trust God for provision and support as it works towards building a space that will serve and impact many lives for years to come.

Beyond the pulpit, Apostle Makhavhu founded the Christ Kingdom Missions in 2004 and established the Flames of Fire Bible School, empowering future leaders with biblical wisdom and accredited theological training.
